The Large-Scale Concert of 1010 People:
kita! 1010 in Senju
“Makoto Nomura Senju Pun-filled Music Festival” is presenting the large-scale outdoor concert “Kita! 1010 in Senju” for 1010 creative players at Senju Sports Park on Sunday 12th October 2025. This marks the second staging since the original “Senju no 1010” at Adachi Market in 2014—returning after 11 years.
The title Kita! carries multiple meanings: it refers to Kita-Senju (North Senju, where the venue is located), the Japanese verb kita (“came/has arrived”), and in Indonesian, “kita” means “we”. Together, it symbolises people gathering to create a musical vision of “us”. This will be a participatory concert at its core.
On the day, composers and guest artists from South-East Asia and across Japan will come together, alongside ordinary citizens, to present a unique performance by 1010 people. The concert is not just something to “watch”—audience members will also have the opportunity to join in and become part of the whole. The range of “instruments” is extremely diverse: skipping ropes, voices, guitars, recorders, saxophones, koto (Japanese plucked half-tube zither instrument), seashells, Indonesian gamelan, smartphones, even rice cookers and kitchen pots. A once-in-a-lifetime collective performance of 1010 participants—truly not to be missed!
